Volunteer to Teach

• We need volunteers tutoring with the Educate Now to Achieve Later (ENAL) Program. The SoulFisher Ministries provides free after-school programming to student in the newly accredited Riverview Gardens School District. Times are Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM or Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Volunteers in our after school programming should have excellent fundamental math abilities.

• You can also teach classes at Women’s Eastern, Diagnostic, and Correctional Center (WERDCC). The SoulFisher Ministries currently teaches Hands on Banking, a financial literacy course, to the women in WERDCC. The SoulFisher Ministries is soon expanding to also teach Employability, Reading Literacy, Making Peace with Your Past classes and more! Weekly time commitment varies by class.

Invite us to speak at your church, parish, organization, or event. We would enjoy sharing the stories of our child and adult students about how education changed their lives.

Come to our fundraisers. The SoulFisher Ministries hosts two fundraisers a year: the Annual ENAL Gold Tournament and the Annual AGAPE Gala. Join our newsletter to hear about volunteer opportunities, purchasing tickets for these events, or how to help sponsor!

Donate supplies for students and teachers use in class. The SoulFisher Ministries is always collecting paper,pencils, and general school supplies to meet the needs of our students.

Grant writing. Do you have experience writing grants? Or are you an excellent proof reader, with an eye for detail? The SoulFisher Ministries is looking for someone with experience to help expand our current programming.

Become a Board Member. The SoulFisher Ministries is always searching for new, dedicated members of the community who are willing to meet once a month and help coordinate volunteers. Having a background in marketing, fundraising, publicity, or organizational skills is preferred but not required. Come prepared to use your unique history and opportunities to advance our work!
