The SoulFisher Ministries’ work in the community is not possible without the faithful service of our volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, we would love to hear from you.


Volunteers of The SoulFisher Ministries:

 

  • Lead our Boards of Directors and committees

  • Help raise funds to ensure The SoulFisher Ministries is accessible to our entire target communities

  • Tutor students in our after school tutoring program

  • Instruct adult women in prison in the classroom

  • Instruct computer literacy classes

  • Instruct and assist with career services (resume writing, interviewing, etc.)

  • Mentor youth and/or adult women in prison

Current Openings

Tutor - Immediate Availability (Part-time)

The SoulFisher Ministries is searching for dedicated people to tutor students enrolled in the Educate Now to Achieve Later (ENAL) program. Program hours during the school year are 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM on Monday and Wednesday as well as 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM on Tuesday and Thursday. Summer hours are Monday through Friday daily from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

 

Qualified applicants should:

  • Posses solid fundamental math competencies

  • Able to adaptable in a rapidly moving program

  • Committed to life-long learning

  • Strong interpersonal skills instrument in engaging students

  • Be very dependable and reliable

 

All applicants should have access to a car or transportation, as tutoring facilities are not readily accessible via public transportation. Any one over the age of 16 is welcome to apply and must be able to pass a background screening. All educational backgrounds are accepted, with preference given to those with a focus in education. All applicants invited for an interview will need to take a math assessment without a calculator and earn at least an 80%.

Facility Director (Full-time)

Job Summary

Facility Director will ensure that all program activities are functioning to full capacity in working to meet all program goals and outcomes. He or she will also be in charge of managing all partnerships, facilitating all professional development, and meeting all the filing requirements of this grant. Furthermore, he or she will attend all school Board meetings, collect necessary data for baseline indicators for academic performance, maintain and update curriculum to ensure that it remains in line with ensuring the best-practices that work towards students’ achievement according to Missouri Learning Standards. Salary is: $31,000 annually.

 

Key Responsibilities & Primary Duties

  • Program management & evaluation:

    • Provide vision, strategic leadership and development of ENAL program to ensure quality academic and character development and enrichment programming, and ensure that the program aligns with the goals of The SoulFisher Ministries AND the goals of Westview Middle School and KOCH Elementary. 

    • Ensure all program activities are functioning to full capacity in working to meet all program goals and outcomes.  Lead the tracking of goals, objectives, and outcomes as needed before the start of each school year.

    • Oversee maintenance of all facility program records.

    • In collaboration with Program Coordinator and Site Supervisor, develop and manage annual program budget. 

  • Successful goal completion & participant outcomes 

    • Maintain knowledge of and ensure full compliance with ExCEL policies and procedures. Successful goal completion & participant outcomes 

  • Supervise Site Supervisors tutors & volunteers

    • Assist in preparation of funding proposals and reports to funders. Supervise staff, consultants & volunteers 

    • Oversee the professional development needs of staff and maintain a current knowledge of the education and youth development fields. 

    • Evaluate staff twice per year and submit final evaluations to both staff and Human Resources.

    • Conduct hiring process for new tutors including interviews, testing, background checks, and filing appropriate paper work.

    • In collaboration with other team members, oversee recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers and program consultants.

  • Collaborate with community partners, including parents & Parent Liaison

    • Oversee outreach to youth and families, including creation of all relevant marketing materials.

    • Act as primary liaison and collaborate closely with the principal and staff of Koch Elementary and Westview Middle School.   Furthermore, he or she will attend all school Board meetings, collect necessary data for baseline indicators for academic performance, maintain and update curriculum to ensure that it remains in line with ensuring the best-practices that work towards students’ achievement according to Missouri Learning Standards.

    • Managing all partnerships, facilitating all professional development, and meeting all the filing requirements of this grant.

    • Meet at least monthly with Lead Teacher and School Site Council/Leadership Team to coordinate program design, discuss evaluation and explore ways to align activities with regular school day.

    • Collaborate closely with community stakeholders including parents and caregivers, community based organizations.  Managing all partnerships, facilitating all professional development, and meeting all the filing requirements of this grant.

    • In collaboration with the Parent Liaison, develop and maintain positive parent relations.

  • Team Leadership

    • Work towards goal of creating stronger management unit via intra-agency collaboration and support.

    • Fulfills organizational duties as they arise including participating in staff meetings, special committees, event planning and implementation.

    • Participation in staff trainings.

    • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Elementary or secondary bachelor degree or similar

  • 3 years proven experience and ability in working in education and/or youth programs.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the best practices in children’s development program planning, curriculum development, methods of teaching, and evaluation.

  • Criminal background mandatory prior to hire.
